My Evo 4G Stats: Android 2.2 (FroYo or Frozen Yogurt). Rooted through UnrEVOked3 (thanks to DutsonEntertainment). No custom Rom. Flashed custom Kernel- netarchy toastmod (compatible with Android 2.2, and HDMwIn). Installed Clockworkmod for Backups/Restores. Kernel Manager- Used this to find compatible Kernal and used to Flash it. I'm new to this so technical questions are really unanswerable by me. I watched numerous youtube videos and visited many websites to figure this out and I still flashed an incompatible Rom (cyanogen 7) which errored into a boot loop (endless rebooting). Though I was (still am) smart enough to make a backup of my current stock rom which I was able to use in recovery (thanks to clockworkmod) and restore normality for my phone. HDMwIn is Free on the android market. Must be rooted. Will likely have connection error or black screen without custom rom and or kernal. Custom rom was not necessary for me though. It's also a battery drainer. =( Be sure to Force Stop after using or your battery will drain fast. AdFree removes MOST ads in browser and games/apps. (Must be rooted). I rooted my phone because of the wireless Hotspot. You can produce a Hotspot for other devices (phones, tablets, pads, netbooks, and laptops). Note: The audio is routed through the HDMI cable.
