How To Backup Your Phone Contacts in Less Than 2 Minutes!

If you are like me, your phone contacts mean the world to you. Have you ever had that lost feeling, after losing a cell phone? Yeah, the phone is gone and you are sad, but something even more foremost has gone: your contacts. That means your wife or girlfriends number, your moms number, your computer technician's number and lastly, but by no means, least, your work contacts! Aaggghh.. That's a horrible feeling.

Even when you buy that shining new phone that you simply must have, its a unquestionably hassle trying to get your contacts transferred to it from your existing phone. And if you've convert phone manufacturers, then you've had it.

Cell Phone Backup

But, I am going to narrate to you an very easy way that will work, no matter where you are or which phone you possess or which supplier you are using. Whether you are in the Us or in Africa, Whether you are using Cingular or Orange, Nokia or Sony Ericsson. This method works on almost any decent Gprs phone.

Here's what we'll do. We will be using the sync service offered by zyb.com. (Yes, its Free). Now, what exactly is a sync service. A sync or synchronization service, allows you to basically keep your data (contacts, calender etc.) on to another server. This means that whenever you lose your contacts, you have to simply touch the server with your new phone and all your contacts will magically appear in less than 60 seconds!

Sounds too good to be true. Read on.

Step 1: First, you have to register at zyb.com. Click "Sign Up". Fill in the essential details and go for your phone's brand and model number.

Step 2: You will now receive an sms from Zyb on your movable phone. Open it and you will find a code in it. Type this code into your next screen, Exactly as it appears on your phone. Now, go for your service supplier from the drop down list. Accept the terms and conditions and click on "Store my contacts, calender and Sms" to continue the installation.

Step 3: In this step, Zyb will now send you settings customized for your phone and provider. On receiving the setting, choose to save them. If your phone asks for a Pin-code, type 1234.

Step 4: Thats it. Your phone is now set up for syncing. simply click "Continue to synchronisation". Depending on your phone Zyb will direct you to go to the sync function on your phone. This varies from phone to phone. But almost all phones put the sync highlight in the organizer menu.

Step 5: Start the sync by clicking on Zyb in the sync function in your phone. You will get a message such as sending contacts. Once done, it will show "Sync complete".

Step 6: Rejoice. For all your contacts are now backed up on the Zyb acquire server. It is fully underground and not viewable by anything but you.

Tips:

1) You can now log on to Zyb.Com anytime to look at your contacts. You can also edit them here.

2) You should sync your contacts often to keep them up-to-date. Many phones allow you to program the sync automatically. You can set this to daily or weekly. I set my to weekly. This was my contacts are all the time up-to-date.

3) normal Gprs charges are applicable as per your task with your service provider.
P.S. I recently backed up my phone's contacts. I have 229 contacts backed up and it took only 500 kb of data. On my plan (in India) it costs Rs. 5 (only 12 cents!) Now thats cheap.
